Privacy Policy
Last Updated: December 14, 2025
At SoloConvert, we take your privacy seriously. Unlike traditional online converters, we built our technology to ensure your files never leave your device.
1. Local-First Processing
SoloConvert utilizes WebAssembly (Wasm) technology to run powerful conversion engines (like FFmpeg) directly within your web browser. This means:
- No File Uploads: Your photos, videos, and audio files are processed locally on your computer or phone. They are never uploaded to our servers.
- Zero Cloud Storage: Since we don't receive your files, we cannot store, view, or share them.
- Complete Control: Once you close the browser tab, all processing data is cleared from your device's memory.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
To be crystal clear:
- We do not collect or store your original files.
- We do not collect or store your converted files.
- We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) unless you voluntarily provide it for support or payment.
3. Data We Collect
We collect minimal, anonymous usage data to improve our service:
- Usage Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our website (e.g., which tools are most popular, page load times). This data is anonymized.
- Error Logs: If a conversion fails, we may collect anonymous error messages to help us fix bugs. These logs do not contain your file content.
- License Status: If you purchase a Pro license, we store a local flag in your browser to unlock features. Payment processing is handled securely by Gumroad; we do not store your credit card information.
4. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services for specific functions:
- Google Analytics: For website traffic analysis.
- Gumroad: For secure payment processing and license management.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
